Infrastructure construction in Sichuan province remains unremittingly improving, and an all-round communications network integrating high ways, railways, civil aviation, inland navigation altogether has been established.
A characteristic highway traffic has been formed, putting Chengdu City at the core, equipped with a highway network supported by national highways and provincial highways as the skeleton and a far-fetching highway network jointed by small and medium sized cities, and the overall mileage open to traffic stretches as far as more than 110,000 km, leading among all China¡¯s provinces, Municipalities and autonomous regions, which includes the 1,785 km-long expressway network and 2867 km of railway. Chengdu Shuangliu International airport has become the fifth largest airport in Mainland China.
The capital of Sichuan province, Chengdu City is the largest financial center in Western China.
